What We Monitor

From basic battery monitoring to full vessel awareness — we install systems that keep you informed and your boat safe.

Battery Monitoring

Victron SmartShunt, BMV-712, and Cerbo GX battery monitoring. Real-time state of charge, voltage, current, consumption history, and remaining runtime on your phone.

Tank Level Monitoring

Fuel, water, waste, and holding tank level sensors with remote readout. Know your tank levels from the helm or your phone without manual checking.

Bilge Monitoring & Alarms

High-water bilge alarms with remote notification. Track bilge pump cycle counts and run times to detect slow leaks before they become emergencies.

Temperature & Humidity

Cabin, engine room, and refrigeration temperature monitoring. Humidity tracking to prevent mold. Alerts when temperatures exceed safe ranges.

Shore Power Monitoring

Shore power connection status, voltage monitoring, and reverse polarity detection. Get alerted immediately if shore power disconnects while you're away.

Remote Access & Alerts

Victron VRM portal, Siren Marine, or Maretron N2KView for 24/7 remote access. Push notifications, email, and SMS alerts for any parameter that needs attention.

Why Monitor Your Vessel

Early Warning

Catch problems before they become emergencies. A bilge alert at 2am is better than a sinking at 6am.

Peace of Mind

Check your boat's status anytime from your phone. Know that everything is normal while you're at home.

Trend Tracking

Historical data shows battery degradation, bilge pump frequency changes, and other trends that predict failures.

Insurance Value

Some insurers offer discounts for monitored vessels. Documentation of system health supports claims if needed.

Monitoring Systems FAQ

What is a marine monitoring system?
A marine monitoring system tracks critical vessel parameters in real time — battery voltage, tank levels, bilge status, temperature, shore power connection, and more. Modern systems send alerts to your phone when something needs attention, even when you're not on the boat. This prevents small problems from becoming expensive emergencies.
Can I monitor my boat remotely from my phone?
Yes. We install and configure systems that give you real-time access to your boat's status from anywhere with cell service. You'll see battery state of charge, shore power status, bilge pump activity, cabin temperature, and more. Alerts are sent via push notification, email, or SMS when thresholds are exceeded.
What brands of monitoring systems do you install?
We work with Victron Energy (Cerbo GX/GX Touch with VRM portal), Maretron (NMEA 2000 vessel monitoring), Siren Marine (cellular monitoring), and BEP (CZone digital switching). The right system depends on your vessel size, existing equipment, and monitoring needs. We'll recommend the best fit during consultation.
How much does a monitoring system cost to install?
Basic battery monitoring (Victron SmartShunt + phone app) starts around $200 plus installation. A full vessel monitoring system with remote access (Victron Cerbo GX + sensors + cellular) typically runs $1,500-$3,500 installed depending on the number of sensors and complexity. Our labor rate is $160/hour. Call for a specific quote.
What's the difference between a battery monitor and a vessel monitoring system?
A battery monitor (like a Victron SmartShunt or BMV-712) tracks battery state of charge, voltage, current, and consumption. A vessel monitoring system goes further — it monitors batteries plus bilge pumps, tank levels, shore power, temperature, humidity, door/hatch sensors, and smoke/CO detectors. It's the difference between watching one thing and watching everything.
Do I need cell service at my marina for remote monitoring?
Yes, for real-time remote monitoring you need cellular connectivity at your slip. Most marinas in Southwest Florida have adequate coverage. For marinas with weak signal, we can install a cellular booster. Some systems also work over Wi-Fi if your marina provides it. We'll assess connectivity during the site visit.
